6 she moved to The Doris Holford Stage School to try other styles of dance. At DHS Jan
took part in shows, competitions and displays in London and surrounding areas and also
gained her first teaching qualifications with NATD in Ballet, Tap and Modern Stage.
After her marriage in 1983 to Nick she continued to dance and appeared with many different
amatuer groups including dancing at the Hackney Empire amongst other venues.
In 1991 the family moved to the North of Scotland and Jan took a break to bring up their
young family.
In 1996 Jan opened the doors to her small school (12 pupils - 2 of which were her own
children) in a local village hall and from this TCD has grown with a dedicated dance studio
and over 120 pupils.
Jan has a real zest for life and a great sense of humour. She also enjoys mentoring,
empowering and encouraging her pupils to follow their dreams.
